Gregory
Girard - Vice President, Operations
Greg Girard is Vice President of Operations for
the Maritime Security Council. Mr. Girard has
worked in the maritime security industry for the past 10
years, starting as a Senior Technical Writer for a
leading maritime security firm. He has conducted port
and vessel security reviews, audits and assessments in
more than 25 countries. He has worked as Project
Manager on numerous security projects, building
multi-terminal security programs, business continuity
plans, emergency response plans, security training
(awareness, PFSO, CSO, SSO) curriculum, and grant
procurement applications.
As Vice President for the MSC, Mr. Girard is
responsible for the day-to-day operations of the
organization. He is editor of the MSC Alert, a
daily open source report distributed to the membership,
and writer and editor for the MSC website and new MSC
Blog. He manages membership services and oversees
conference and event planning for the organization,
including agenda development, sponsorship and delegate
recruitment, and materials production.
Prior to working in the maritime security
industry, Mr. Girard spent nearly a decade in the
communications field as a writer, editor and
publisher. He is a graduate of Providence College with
a Bachelor of Arts in History and the University of
Montana with a Master of Arts in Journalism.
