David
Sanborn
David C. Sanborn is a 1973 graduate
of the United States Merchant Marine Academy, a veteran
of the U.S. Navy, and an ex Merchant Marine Officer . Mr
Sanborn was a long time employee of Sea-Land Service,
Inc. He moved on to work with American President Lines
and CMA-CGM in senior management positions prior to
joining DP World in May of 2005. He is now engaged in
transportation consulting through the company he
founded- International Transportation Systems, LLC.
During his career Sanborn has
managed numerous container ports and has been involved
in concept and design processes for logistics facilities
in various key areas of the world. He has had extensive
international experience in all facets of general
management within the transportation industry, having
held senior positions during his career in the United
States, Brazil, Europe, Hong Kong, the Dominican
Republic, Singapore and Dubai.
Mr. Sanborn continues to be very
active in the maritime and transportation industries,
has presented numerous papers to conferences and
technical groups, and sits on several Boards. He is
currently a Governor for the Maritime Security Council.
He is a member of the United States Merchant Marine
Academy Alumni Association, the American Association of
Ports Authorities, the Charleston Propeller Club, is a
past member of SOLE (Society of Logistics Engineers),
and is a past Director of EBAC (East Bay
Agency for Children- is a
non-profit organization providing therapeutic services
to disadvantaged children in the Oakland and San
Francisco Bay areas of California).
Conversant in the Spanish language,
Mr. Sanborn has traveled and worked extensively
throughout the world, and especially within Latin
America.
Mr. Sanborn and his wife of 36
years, Terry, reside in Wesley Chapel, North Carolina.
They have three children- Chris, Erica, and Tracy.
